Qatari players shine at the 2nd smash tennis academy tennis championships 2010

The players of the Qatar National team are putting an impressive show at the 2nd SMASH Tennis Academy Championship 2010 taking place at the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. In the boys under 10 category Qatari player Hamad AL Mohannadi moved yesterday to the quarterfinals after smashing Adnen Karmoussi by 6-0, 6-0 and previously overcoming Ashan Ginige in the fourth round also by 6-0, 6-0. In the same category Bakhit Al Naimi stunned his opponent by 6-1, 6-1. Bakhit faced no stiff resistance from H.Hari Kumar and was always in control of the game from the start. Another player from the Qatar National Team who shone moving to the quarter-finals was Mohamed Said. A determined and focused Mohamed wore down Abderrahman Saad 6-3, 6-2, while Ahmed Al Kawari – who encountered more resistance than any of his compatriots - defeated Mubarak Al Sulaiti also securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the event.
All players from the Qatar National Team that participated in the boys under 12 category moved to the third round stunning their rivals. The first match of the day saw Abdulrahman Saad knocked out Bander Al Abdulla 6-1, 6-0. Ahmed Mislamani had a flawless victory of 6-0, 6-0 over Seshadri Raguraman, while Ali Al Kuwari had a perfect first set winning over Ahmed Rashwan 6-0. During the second set Al Kuwari faced a stronger and confident Raswan, who eventually succumbed to the power of Al Kuwari by 6-4. Khalifa Al Mahamoud, Hamad Al Mohanadi, Issa Shanan, Ali Al Mahmoud, Abdulla Makki, Omar Jufairi and Mohamed Al Mohannadi completed the ensemble of players from the national team that moved to the third round of the 2nd SMASH Tennis Academy Championship 2010 in the boys under 12 category.
Ahmed Al Mohannadi also claimed victory in the under 14 boys. The Qatari player moved to the quarter-finals. With good strokes and couple of aces Mohanadi overcame Ali Bahzad by 6-3, 6-2. Omar Al Settawi – who also posted a win in the under 18 boys category - and Adbullah Al Jufairi defeated their rivals 6-2, 6-4 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively.
Mohamed Khinji, Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Ahmed Al Ali and Jassim Al Mulla were the remaining players saving grace for the Qatar national team as they all moved to the quarter-finals in the boys under 18 category.
