Qatari player Al Jabor moves to quarter-finals of the Qatar Asian Championships

 Doha, Qatar- The second day of the Qatar Asian Championships kicked off with the star of the Qatar National Team, Jabor Al Mutawa posting a 6-4, 6-2 win over compatriot Tala Al Mahmoud in the under 16 boys singles.
 
At the courts of the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex top seed Jabor showed great confidence in his game right from the start and didn’t leave room for mistakes as he was always in full control of the match. The player - who shares his training between the Mouretoglou academy in France and Smash Academy in Qatar -, faced no stiff resistance during his meeting with Talal. Al Jabor moved to the quarter-finals and will now face another player from the Qatar National Team Jassem Al Mulla who defeated Mohamed Khinji 76(3) 62. Preferred 
 
 A determined and focused Faisal Al Tell from Jordan wore down Alrajeh Adbullatif from The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in two thrilling sets.   Faisal went on to win the opener by 6-3 and with good strokes, squared off, taking the second set 6-2. Alrajeh could not match the peace and precision of Faisal who moved to the quarter-finals and will play against Mubarak Shannan from Qatar. Also moving to the quarter-finals Alsaid Bassel from Syria, Marwan Alkaisi from Iraq , Suliman Al Kaseen from Saudi and second seed Mousa Zayeed from Qatar.
 
In the under 14 boys singles, saving grace for Qatar Abdullah Al Mahmoud was the only player from the Qatar National Team to move to the quarter-finals after overcoming Ali Al Abdllreda 6-4, 6-0. Top seed Syrian Kareem Alaf knocked out Arthur Hutabarat from India 6-2, 6-0, while Emirati Majed Al Falasi defeated Jordanian Hamzeh Al Aswad 6-2, 6-1 to secure a spot in the quarter-finals. Zaher Boudakji from Syria, Daher Zaid from Jordan and Mousa Qotob also from Jordan, were among the players which also moved to the quarter-finals.
 
In the under 14 girls singles Ghada Al Ajeely from Iraq, Meredith Jones from Philippines, Nasah Gahar from Lebanon and Nayanika Reddy from India defeated their respective opponents securing a spot in the finals.
