Federer battles Davydenko for the title
08 Jan 2011
Saturday is the last day of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2011. Only one match remains, the Single’s Final.

The match, a repeat of last year’s semi-final, will be between world number two, Roger Federer (SWI), and defending champion, Nikolay Davydenko (RUS). Federer has already been able to win the title twice in Doha, back in 2005 and 2006. Davydenko has won last year.

The Russian has a career high ranking of 3, but due to injury has slipped back to number 22. He has been able to win the last six finals he was part of and will be going for his seventh in a row.

Federer leads the heat-to-head 14-2. They played three times last year, with the Russian only being able to beat the Swiss in Doha, 6-4 6-4.

The final will start at 6p.m. at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex. Both players have certainly earned their spot in the final and will definitely prove that on the day.

QTF will be offering a lot of surprise for the spectators in Khalifa International Tennis Complex, and after the final, there will be a specatcular closing ceremony.
