QTF Open – Final Results

On the final day of the 3rd QTF Open saw Celestino Solon and Reynaldo Amazona securing the men's doubles title by defeating Michael Matua and Cliff Acaso in two straight sets 6-3 7-6 (3) in the final.

A great achievement for Solon who had also secured the singles title a day earlier by defeating Filippo Sassi 6-2 6-3.

The tournament  was organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) over two weeks with 200 players battling for 16 titles in various age groups. 

QTF General Secretary Mr. Yousef Al Obaidly, and Assistant General Secretary Mr. Tarek Zainal were present during the final day ceremony and handed the trophies to the winners and the runner ups.

A number of young players caught the eye during the tournament, including Mubarka Al Naimi who won the girls under 10 and under 12 titles. Other names who shined include Ali Mahmoud under 10 champion, Hamad Al Mohanadi under 12 champion, Abdulla Al Jufairi under 14 champion and Ali Bahzad under 18 champion.

"The tournament this year was special, we saw huge demand for participation on all levels, that proves the increasing popularity of tennis specially among young generations" Mr. AL Obaidly said.

"We always aim at organizing local tournaments at the highest level
for tennis players in Qatar, and I hope they enjoyed the tournament this year" he added.
