Thursday, January 5, 2012 – Doha, Qatar – This week’s Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2012 has coincided with some of Europe’s top football teams being in town for training which means tennis and football have collided at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Federation. Tonight saw the arrival of German team Schalke 04 at the tennis with striker Raul leading the way. The team was greeted in the Emiri Lounge by Qatar Tennis Federation President, Nasser Al Khelaifi, and Secretary General, Yousif Al-Obaidli. Raul was here to watch countryman and No. 1 seed Rafael Nadal of Spain in the third match of the day when Nadal took on No. 7 seed Mikhail Youzhny of Russia. On Monday night, Paris St. Germain was on hand to watch opening night of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2012, celebrating 20 years of men’s professional tennis in the country.
