The First Qatar Asian Junior Tournament concludes

10-March-2013-Doha, Qatar- Friday’s night saw the final match of the first Asian Junior-under 14-2013 tournament at Khalifa International Complex for tennis and Squash.

Good results were achieved by our national team as the Qatari double combined of Omar Al Juffairi and Issa Shannan clinched the boys double title after beating the Yemeni Double, Belal Al Harbi and Azizi Ahmed in the final.

The girls double title was clinched by the Saba Najaty of Iran and Ferelna Komesh from Croatia, while the Pakistani Sayed Nofal clinched the boys single title and Saba Najati clinched the girls single title.

Tareq Zeinal, the General Secretary Assistant in QTF, presented the trophy to the winners in attendance of the tournament director Sultan Khalfan, his Assistant Ehab Awad and the tournament MC Hamad Al-Kuwari.

Tariq said about the Qatari wining:” we are proud of the great results that achieved by our national players, and we are looking forward to see more great results in both, the second Asian and ITF tournaments.”

This will be followed by the second Asian Junior Tournament from March 11-15, 2013.
The national team will include Hamad Al Mohannadi,Mobaraka Al Aulaiti, Ali Al ,Mahmoud, yousef, Rayan Al Alami, Rayan Al Juffairi, Mubarka Al Nuaimi and Naela Shokri and they will all compete with players from different countries including KSA, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, India, Seri Lanka, Phillipins, Yemen and Hong Kong.
The strategy followed by QTF to increase the number of tournaments that held here in Doha, is aiming to elevate the game of tennis in Qatar and to promote it among the Qatari Youth.
