Curtains Come down on Qatar Asian Junior Championship

The 2016 Qatar Asian Junior Championship (Under 14 Years) came to an end at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on Saturday.

More than 70 players from different Asian Countries took part in this event including Bahrain, India, Pakistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, India Pakistan, Philippines and Qatar.

Sultan Khalfan, Director of the QTF Local Tournaments crowned the winners.

Huzaifa Abdulrahman of Pakistan defeated Rashid Nayef of Yemen to claim the singles title, then he teamed-up with Abdullah Shelbaya of Jordan to win the doubles title after beating Qassim Al Ebaidan of Saudi Arabia and Mohammad Abdulraouf Ameral of Philippines.

In girls’ event, Elesia Wan of Malaysia defeated India’s Sania Masand to take the title. Moreover, Elesia Wan and Savani Jiasoria of Sri Lanka led the standings of girls doubles event ahead of Sofia Baranova of USA and Adal Magnasova of Kazakhstan who finished second.
