The Junior National Teams Tournament organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) was concluded at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on Sunday.
Ibrahim Al Khelaifi, Deputy Head of National Teams Committee and Sultan Khalfan crowned the winners with attendance of players’ parents and the QTF employees.
Al Khelaifi hailed the level of the Qatari players during the tournament and stressed the importance of their participation of this local event which is considered as one of the main fundamentals on which the federation depends in developing their training program.
“The QTF depends of this tournament in the classification of the players and assessment of their levels before the upcoming tournaments.” He said.
Rayyan Al Jefairi claimed the title of boys under 18 years category after beating Ali Al Yafei in the final match.
In girls’ under 18 years category, Salima Wali hoisted the trophy while Sheikha Khalifa finished second.
Adel Wali took the first place in boys’ under 14 years category while Abdullah Al Ghareeb secured the second place.
Moreover, Abdullah Al Ghareeb teamed up with Turkey Majed Al Abdullah to win the title of boys under 14 years doubles category following their victory over Meshaal Al Khanji and Nasser Al Khelaifi in the final match.
Adel Hassan occupied the first place in boys under 12 years category ahead of Fahad Al Khelaifi in the second place.
In doubles event, Adel Hassan and Ghanim Al Sulaiti claimed the title after beating Fahad Al Khelaifi and Fahad Al Thani in in the final match.
Safiya Al Thani emerged victorious in girls under 12 years category while Janah Al Sheikh finished second.
In Girls under 10 years category, Danah Al Sheikh took the first place ahead of Danah Khalifa in the second place.
For his part, Abdullah Mahmoud claimed the title of boys under 10 years category while Abdulaziz Muftah managed second.
In boys under 9 years category, Fahad Al Sharshani emerged victorious after his victory over Abdulrahman Al Neama in the final match.
In girls under 9 years event, Maryam Al Thani hoisted the trophy after beating Jawhara Zainal in the final match.
Faris Mohamed downed Hamad Al Sulaiti in the final match of boys under 8 years category to claim the title.
