The 29th edition of Nasser bin Khaled Ramadan Tennis Tournament was concluded recently. The tournament brought together 310 players from different age groups.
The closing ceremony was attended by HE Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Holding, HE Sheikh Nasser bin Nawaf bin Khalid Al Thani, Deputy Chairman of Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Holding, Tariq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation, Ahmed Hesham Azim, Chairman of the Tournament’s Higher Organizing Committee, Sultan Khalfan, the Tournament Director and Ehab Awad, Assistant Tournament Director and the General Umpire Dr. Ashraf Hamouda.
In veterans’ doubles final, Dr. Ahmed Ismael and Dr. Mamdouh Essa defeated Ehab Uthman and Dio Dani to claim the title.
After the final match, HE Sheikh Nasser bin Nawaf bin Khalid Al Thani and Tariq Zainal crowned the winners of the different categories.
On the other hand, Zeyad Samir claimed the title of veterans singles event while Mubarak Shanan hoisted the trophy of men’s singles event. Moreover, Jabor Nouh and Philip Ferger emerged victorious in men’s doubles event.
HE Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, hailed the success of the event in its 29th edition and extended his thanks to the officials of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation for their contribution to the success of the event.
For his part, Tariq Zainal said “We are delighted with the partnership with Nasser bin Khaled Group which has developed the tournament over the last 29 years”
“The tournament provides the young Qatari players with opportunity to play in a competitive atmosphere” he added.
Sultan Khalfan stressed that the tournament featured the participation of 310 players for the first time in its history.
“The federation and NBK Group are keen to develop the tournament that is why it became such a popular tennis event.” He said.
