The second edition of Qatar Rail Tennis Open Tournament was concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Sunday.
The tournament featured the participation of 250 including 89 national teams’ players.
The medal ceremony was attended by the QTSBF Board Member Karim Alami and Director of Public Relations at Qatar Railways Company Abdullah Al Mawlawi.
Mubaraka Al Naimi claimed the title of Women’s event after beating her compatriot Sheikha Khalifa in the final match.
Mousa Shanan won Men’s event while Nasser Al Yafei took the first place in boys under 18 years event ahead of Ali Al Yafei in the second place.
Meshaal Al Khanji hoisted the trophy of boys under 14 years event while Nasser Al Yafei won took the first place in boys under 18 years event ahead of Ali Al Yafei in the second place.
Dana Al Sheikh claimed the title of girls under 12 years event and Abdulaziz Al Khayarin took the first place in boys under 10 years event.
Philip Margo and Marco Barlik claimed title of Men’s doubles event after beating Sultan Khalfan and Amro Abdo in the final match.
The tournament is a collaboration between the QTSFB and Qatar Railways Company.
Director of Public Relations at Qatar Railways Company Abdullah Al Mawlawi said, “It is our pleasure to see this huge number of participants in the tournament which will help develop tennis in the state of Qatar”
