The competitions of Doha Men’s Padel Tour came to an end at Doha Sheraton Hotel Saturday. The event was held under the umbrella of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) and Doha Sports Company with participation of 140 players.
The medal ceremony was attended by the QTSBF Secretary-General Tariq Zainal, Chairman of Doha Sports Company Khalid Khalifa bin Tawar Al Kuwari and Sheikh Hassan bin Khalid Al Thani.
Qatar’s Abdullah Al Khenji and Abdullah Ahmed claimed the title of Intermediate event after beating Ghazi Radwan and Mohamed Abu Treika 6-2 3-6 6-2 in the final match.
In Beginners event, Qatar’s Abdullah Al Kuwari and Abdulaziz Suhaim took the first place following their victory over Abdullah Al Dharah and Abdulhadi Al Dosari 6-0 6-2 while Carlus Alonso and Juan Senet claimed the title of advanced event.
The QTSBF Secretary-General Tariq Zainal hailed the success of Doha Padel Tour and its popularity and stressed that the federation will do whatever does it takes to promote Padel in the state of Qatar.
Zainal also applauded the role of Doha Sports Company in sponsoring the tournament and its contribution to promoting Padel in the state of Qatar.
It worth mentioning that Doha Padel Tour began on November 28.
Padel is a racquet sport that combines the elements of tennis and squash, but it is played on a bigger court. The Padel became very popular in the world, especially in Spain.
