Qatar’s Mubarak and Mousa Shannan qualified to the quarterfinals of doubles event at Qatar F5 Futures organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) in cooperation with International Tennis Federation.
Mubarak Shannan teamed up with Italy’s Adelchi Virgili to beat Mick Lescure of France and Vladyslav Orlov of Ukraine 6-2 6-4 in the second round.
Moreover, Mousa Shannan and Italy’s Mirko Cutuli edged past Mikalai Haliak and Aliaksandr Liaonenka of Belarus 6-1 6-7(7) [14-12] to reach the quarterfinals.
In addition to Mousa and Mubarak, the Qatar Tennis Federation gave wild cards to Jabor Al Mutawa and Abdullah Shannan.
The QTF also invited Italy’s Mirko Cutuli and Adelchi Virgili to participate in the event.
The Qatar F5 Futures began on Monday with participation of 32 players in singles event and 16 teams in doubles event.
The QTF used to organize this tournament to provide the Qatari players with opportunity to acquire more experience as the points of the tournament help them improve their world ranking.
It’s worth mentioning that Muabrak Shannan qualified to the semifinals of Qatar F4 Futures held last Week.
