National Teams’ Players Sparkle in Qatar Junior ITF World Tennis Tour

Qatar’s Taima Hassiba and Lebanon’s Maria Breidy qualified to the quarterfinals of doubles event at 2ndQatar Junior ITF World Tennis Tour (J4 Doha) organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex

In the first round, Hassiba and Breidy defeated Qatar’s Dana AL-Mudahka and Salima Waly 6-1 6-2.

In boys singles event, Qatar’s Rashed Nawaf qualified to the second round after beating Mark Lajal of Estonia 7-5 6-2.

On the other hand, Janos Fekete of Slovakia qualified to the second round after beating Russia’s Ilya Lebedev 7-6(5) 3-6 7-6(5) in the first round.

Also in the first round, Ammar Elamin of Ireland edged past Frank Jonker while Peter Sallay of Hungary defeated Jakub Katuch of Slovakia.

The main rounds of the event began on Monday with a wide Qatari and international participation in both singles and doubles events.

The state of Qatar is represented by Rashed Nawaf, Mubarka Al Naimi, Ghanem Al Khelaifi, Nasser Al Yazidi, Saeed Al Kuwari, Ali Yafei, Meshaal Al Khanji, Adel Ghanim, Rayyan Al Jefairi, Taiyma Hasiba and Amna Homoud.

The participation of the Qatari players in the tournament came in light of the QTF’s strategy to provide the players of with opportunity to improve their skills.
