The Qatar Asian Junior Team Cup, organised by the Qatar Tennis Federation in co-operation with Asian Federation will begin at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday.
The state of Qatar is represented by Rashed Nawaf, Nasser Al Yafei, Meshal Al Khanji, Turky Al Abdullah, Meshari Nawaf, Ali Al Yafei, Tamim Al Thani and Sultan Al Malki.
The draw was held on Sunday where group (A) includes Qatar (B) team, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal while Qatar (A) team are pooled in group (B) alongside Hong Kong and Bahrain.
Early this month, Qatar’s Nasser and Ali Yafei participated in the Asian Tennis Training Camp held in Oman while Rashed Nawaf claimed the second place at Orange Bowl Tennis Championship held in Miami, USA recently.
Sultan Khalfan, the tournament director, stressed on the role played by this tournament in providing Qatari players the opportunity to exchange skills and experiences with other players coming from other tennis schools.
He said the event will improve Qatari’s performance level.
