The main draw of Qatar F1 Futures begins today at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex. The tournament is organized by the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF) in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) until March 03, 2018.
The one-week tournament will see the participation of 32 players in singles event and 16 teams in doubles event.
The state of Qatar will be represented by Mubarak Shanan, Mousa Shanan, Jabor Al Mutawa and Rayyan Al Jufairi who will begin their campaign in the event on Monday.
The QTSBF Executive Director and Tournament Director Saad Al Mohannadi stressed that futures tournaments will enable the federation to provide the Qatari players with the opportunity to compete with some highly ranked players.
Al Mohannadi also said that the federation will organize an edition that copes with reputation of the state of Qatar in hosing the international tennis competitions.
The QTSBF Executive Director reaffirmed that the tournament will help prepare the Qatari players for their participation in Davis Cup to be staged in Vietnam in April 2018.
