The third edition of Qatar Rail Tennis Open Tournament began at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday.
The tournament brings together 250 players to compete in different age groups including boys and girls under 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 18 years in addition to men, women and veterans competitions.
The tournament comes light of the cooperation between the QTSFB and Qatar Railways Company.
The QTSBF Secretary General Tariq Zainal said, “We are proud of organizing third edition of the tournament in light of our cooperation with Qatar Railways Company to promote tennis in the state of Qatar and support the Qatari players”
“This edition of the tournament will follow the track of the previous successful editions despite of the protective measures taken by the federation to curb the spread of coronavirus “COVID-19”
Zainal also lauded the company’s social responsibility and its contribution to the development of sport in our community.
Ajlan Eid Al Enazi, Chief of Strategy & Business Development at Qatar Rail, commented “The tournament comes in light of the fruitful cooperation between Qatar Railways and the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation as we are always looking forward to support the Qatari sport and provide our players with the opportunities to develop their skills.”
Al Enazi also wished all success for the participating players and lauded the efforts made by the federation to organize the event
