The second edition of Qatar Rail Tennis Open Tournament continued in style at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
The tournament brings together 250 players who are competing in different age groups including boys and girls under 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 18 years in addition to men, women and veterans competitions.
Mubaraka Al Naimi claimed the title of Women’s event after beating her compatriot Sheikha Khalifa in the final match.
In boys under 14 years event, Meshaal Al Khanji qualified to the semifinals following his 6-0 6-1 victory over Mohammed Usama.
Nasser Al Yafei qualified to the semifinals of boys under 18 years event after beating Adel Ghanim 6-2 6-3.
The tournament comes the light of the cooperation between the QTSFB and Qatar Railways Company.
The QTSBF Secretary-General Tariq Zainal, said “We are excited to organize a new edition of the tournament in cooperation with Qatar Railways Company which provides our athletes with an opportunity to play in a competitive atmosphere”
Zainal added that the partnership with Qatar Railways Company reflects the development of Tennis in the state of Qatar. He also hailed the contribution of national companies to the development of sport in our beloved nation.
