Qatar’s Ambassador To Singapore Supports Our National Tennis Team

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Singapore Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamar held a dinner banquet in honour of the delegation of Qatar’s national tennis team before their campaign in 2019 Davis cup.

On this occasion, HE Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamad stressed that importance of the tournament which features the participation of our tennis national team.

He also hailed the great sporting boom of the state of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, where many accomplishments were achieved in all fields, the last of which was the successful participation of the first football team in the 2019 Copa America in Brazil.

HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Singapore added that Tennis became so popular sport in the state of Qatar as the federation used to host a huge number of international tennis events including Qatar ExxonMobil Open and Qatar Total Open which used to attract the world’s tennis stars.

He also wished all success for the Qatari national team in Davis Cup.

For his part, the head of Qatar’s delegation to the event Ahmed Al Obaidli thanked Qatar’s Ambassador to Singapore HE Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamar for his support to the Qatari national team before the event.

Al Obaidli said that the players promised the federation to do their best to qualify to Davis Cup Group II and announced that the draw of the event will be held on today.

2019 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III will bring together Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Vietnam and Singapore.

As per the ITF rules the participating teams in the 2019 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group III will be divided into two groups where the winners and runners-up will qualify to Group II.
