The fourth edition of QTF & Al-Majed Tennis Open Tournament was concluded on Sunday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
The tournament brought together 250 players who have competed in different age groups including boys and girls under 8, 9, 12, 14, and 18 years in addition to Men’s, Women’s and Veteran’s categories.
The medal ceremony was by Tariq Zainal, Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation, Nasr Ahmed Al Majed, Representative of Al Majed Group and the Tournament Director Sultan Khalfan.
During the ceremony, Tariq Zainal handed over the QTSBF Commemorative Shield to Nasr Ahmed Al Majed in recognition for the group’s support to the development of sport in the state of Qatar.
Mousa Shanan teamed up with Philip Farger to win Men’s doubles event after beating Cliff Acaso and Ruel Rubillar in the final match.
In men’s singles event, Shanan claimed the second place following his final match defeat at the hands of Amro Abdou.
In ladies singles event, Mubarka Al Naimi took the second place after losing the final match to Sarah Meghoufel.
In boys under 14 years event, Adel Ghanim claimed the first place ahead of Akash De Silva in the second place.
In doubles event, Turkey Al Majed and Adel Ghanim hoisted the trophy after beating Nasser Al Khalifi and Sultan Al Malki in the final match.
Sheikha Khalifa took the second place in girls under 14 years event behind Aleksandra Bortnichek while Hind Al Modhaka won girls under 12 years event following her victory over Mashael Al Khenji.
In girls under 10 years event, Alyaa Al Thani clinched the second place behind Zainab Al Motawa.
