The fifth edition of QTF & Al-Majed Tennis Open Tournament has begun on Monday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
To conclude on October 8, 2020, the event will feature the participation of 250 players to compete in different age groups including boys and girls under 8, 9, 12, 14, and 18 years in addition to Men’s, Women’s and Veteran’s categories.
It’s worth mentioning that QTF & Al Majed Tournament is the first event to be organized by the federation since the suspension of sports activities last March in light of the protective measures taken by the state of Qatar to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
The QTF have prepared a special medical protocol for the tournament that guarantees the safety of and respects the rules of social distancing and public health.
QTF & Al Majed Tournament is one the local open tournaments which the federation ingested in its calendar to develop tennis in the state of Qatar.
The QTF Secretary General Tariq Zainal lauded the cooperation between the QTF and Al Majed Group in organizing the fifth edition of the tournament.
He also stressed the importance of the contributions of local companies to the development of sport in Qatar.
“QTF & Al Majed Tournament will the provide our athletes with opportunity to practice their beloved sport after month of suspension because of Coronavirus” said Tariq Zainal.
