The QTF Junior Open Tennis Tournament began on Monday at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
The event brings together 150 players to compete in different age groups including boys and girls under 10, 12, 14, and 18 years.
Th tournament also features the participation of 50 national team players including Adel Ghanim, Ali Yafei and Hend Al Modhahka.
The QTF Open Junior Tournament is one the local open tournaments which the federation ingested in its calendar to develop tennis in the state of Qatar.
The QTF Secretary General Tariq Zainal said that the federation is keen to organize this tournament which bring together a huge number of players and stressed that the federation will do whatever does it commit the protective measures taken by the state of Qatar to curb the spread of coronavirus.
“Despite of the corona pandemic, the federation is keen to stick to its plans related to the local tournaments to help the Qatari players retain their shape and promote tennis in the state of Qatar” he added.
