The QTF Tennis Junior Open will get underway at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex on Monday.
The tournament brings together 250 players to compete in different age groups including boys and girls under 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 18 years.
The event, which will be held in knockout format, will be the first tournament for national team players after their summer training camp in Belgium, France, Malaysia, Jordan and Turkey.
The QTSBF Board Member and Head of National Teams Committee Khalid al Khelaifi stressed importance of this local tournament for national teams’ players after their summer training camps held in July and August.
“The tournament will help promote Tennis in the state of Qatar as it used to feature wide participation from Qatar’s national teams” al Khelaifi said.
