Rashed and Meshari Nawaf won Qatar Asian Junior Championship 2019

Qatar’s Rashed Nawaf claimed the title of Qatar Asian Junior Championship 2019 organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation in cooperation with the Asian Tennis Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

The one-week was featured the participation of 60 players.

In the final match of boys singles event, Rashed Nawaf defeated his compatriot Meshari Naif 6-1 6-0

In boys doubles event, Qatar’s Rashed Nawaf and Meshari Naif claimed the title after beating China’s Tpeyi-Hsuan Chen and  Tpeyun-Yang Lin 6-0 6-1.

Maria Breidy hoisted the trophy of girls’ event and teamed up with Malaysia’s Iman Syuhada Abdullah to win doubles event.

The medal ceremony was attended by Saad Al Mohannadi, Executive Director of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation and the Tournament Director Sultan Khalfan.

Saad Al Mohannadi congratulated Rashed Nawaf and Meshari Naif on their achievements and applauded their levels during the tournament.

“This achievement will not only motivate the Qatari players but the whole federation to complete its plan which aims at developing the national teams with their all categories” he said.

He also added the Asian Tennis Championship comes in light of the QTSBF strategy to organize a series of local and international tournaments to provide our athletes with the opportunity to improve their levels.
