Mr. Tariq Zainal, Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation was elected as a board member of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) during the federation’s general assembly meeting held in Bangalore, India on Sunday.
Zainal was elected as an ATF Board member after receiving 39 votes.
Tariq Zainal joined the ATF in 2016 as a member of marketing and sponsorship committee. He also served as vice president of the Arab Tennis Federation from 2013 to 2017.
After the general assembly meeting, Zainal said “I’m proud of representing my country at the ATF which is the official body responsible for promoting tennis and using sport as a tool to develop the local community.”
He also added that his election reflects the trust of Asian countries in the state of Qatar in light of the unlimited support of Qatar’s wise leadership.
Zainal also affirmed that he will do his best alongside the other board members of the ATF to develop and promote tennis in the Asian Continent stressing that the state of Qatar contributing to all development projects of Tennis in Asian.
